"Clare Hubbard aka Clay Camero aka Caethua creates darkly psychedelic folk songs that are as delightful as they are spooky. Sort of like if Neil Young and Patti Smith tripped acid in an abandoned ghost town and recorded an album together." - IMPOSE Magazine

Resurrection is the much-anticipated new release for Clay Camero. It follows her first, Cool Blue Shadows, a dark powerful study of a woman standing her ground in the face of loss. Loss is a recurring theme in the songs of Resurrection, but this time the loss is accepted without the weight of remorse, as if Clay has finally shed the skin of sorrow she had worn for so long. The album opens with "Red Sand," a bittersweet depiction of Clay's Great Grandmother’s escape from a prison ship to roam alone through the deserts of Western Australia. The mood shifts with the classic anthem "Chevy," a pleasure cruise down the dusty back roads of Maine. Clay’s voice shines on "Poison Arrow," lending raw power to her ethereal femininity. As ever, the County Line Bandits are along for the journey, and together they ride. feeding the fires with their psychedelic twang. Throughout this beautifully written album the message is clear: the antidote to suffering is love. In "Dream Man" it seduces, in "Freedom" it heals, and in "Hot Summer Moonlight" it haunts. Clay’s stories transform darkness into light with unnerving honesty and otherworldliness. In Resurrection, Clay & the County Line Bandits transcend the heavy weight of being human with pure raw power.

"No mere mortal woman is at the heart of this story; Cool Blue Shadows is richly textured, it has depth, it shines, it weeps, it breathes..." Victoria Karol, the Portland Phoenix

Clay Camero

& the County Line Bandits

are the gorgeous grit of the underground, the psychedelic outlaws of that backwoods roadhouse dance floor of your dreams, where the deserts outside L.A. and the western mountains of Maine become one in a haunting landmass called Freedom.

Clay Camero has been writing music since she was a kid and finds her inspiration in nature, in the ether, in rust belt towns, and in the stories of what the flood leaves behind when the water recedes. She lives on a river in the foothills of the mountains of Western Maine and most days she's convinced all of her melodies come from the water. She's been called prolific by many, and a creative genius by some.

Clay, also known as Caethua and Sports, has played in underground bands since she was 14. She believes in the power of music bringing communities together. She started SAXWAND RECORDS when she was 22. She has released over 10 albums, both on her label and through other labels over the years including Foxy Digitalis, Goaty Tapes, PRESERVATION, Psychic Sounds, BLUE SANCT, BATHETIC, NIGHT PEOPLE, WATER WING, Turned Word, FEEDING TUBE and more.

Clay is currently working on her next album on her land in Maine, and is reviving an old church from the 1800's to make it a venue and recording studio to help preserve the rich tradition of songwriting in Maine's Western Mountains.
